Mille Lacs Lake – The Big Pond
Mille Lacs Lake is Minnesota’s 2nd largest lake, at around 132,000 acres in surface area. Mille Lacs was formed by glaciers, which worked to create a paradise for fish, and a playground for those who love to fish! The lake features a maximum depth of only 42 feet, but provides a structure density and diversity that is sure to keep you hooked!
Smallmouth Bass
Mille Lacs Lake has quickly become a destination smallmouth fishery. In 2017, Mille Lacs Lake was ranked as the #1 Bass Lake in America by Bassmaster. Bassmaster noted that in the 2017 Bassmaster Angler of the Year Championship, 94 5-fish limits of smallmouth bass weighed over 20 pounds.
Smallmouth Bass provide what I think is the best pound-for-pound fight in freshwater. With acrobatic jumps, the power to keep your rod bent, and the attitude to never quit! Mille Lacs boasts a phenomenal smallmouth bass fishery, with a healthy population, and the chance for an absolute giant! We work to maintain this fishery, so we are strictly catch and release for all smallmouth bass fishing.
Walleye
Mille Lacs lake has been known as a legendary walleye fishery for decades, and this has not changed. Mille Lacs Lake maintains a phenomenal walleye population, with great chances at a big fish, as well as a great number of fish!
Musky
Mille Lacs Lake is a destination Musky lake for most. Mille Lacs maintains a low-density population of Muskellunge, but with a phenomenal opportunity at a giant! The current catch-and-release record in Minnesota was caught in Mille Lacs Lake, at 58.25 inches!
